Concato Gilberto: the adventure begins

Arzignano is where the company first opened its leather workshops and over the years it became the largest tanning district in Italy and one of the biggest in the world.

This was also where in 1976 the young Gilberto would open his sole-trader business, Concato Gilberto.

The process involves collecting the hides from local tanneries, selecting and trimming them for resale to customers in the district.

“Gimbo”, being passionate and determined about his work, was an instant hit with his customers who recognised his skill and professionalism and began to place more and more orders. The business grew steadily.

Stefano and Cristiano Concato: the new generation

In 1998, Gilberto’s sons Stefano and Cristiano joined the business, which changed its name to Concato Gilberto & C snc.

The new arrivals brought new energy to the company, which began to expand its market and started exporting its leathers all over the world.

Concato became known for quality products and attentive customer service. The business and its workforce continued to grow, to the extent that another business unit was needed, to handle the initial processing of the raw hides.

This led to the foundation of Jera srl in 2007, also in Arzignano.

Concato Gilberto srl: the business evolves

A few months later, Concato Gilberto & C. snc became what is now Concato Gilberto srl. The company’s main activity is the selection and sale of leather splits and derivatives.

At the sites in Montebello Vicentino and Zermeghedo, Stefano and Cristiano run both companies, with the passion and attention to detail handed down from their father.

The same values that have guaranteed the success of Concato for almost half a century.
